mention

Legal Definition of mention

Noun

  1. This is where a case is listed before a court of law for the first time. The case appears in the court for a brief time, usually to deal with a procedural matter. A mention is not the "hearing" of the matter. This includes setting for a hearing if the case is not sorted out and deciding bail.
